Detection of the cytokines in the saliva from patients with Candida -related denture stomatitis and controls. Whole saliva samples from each donor were collected and cytokines (CXCL8, GM-CSF and TNF-Ī±) were quantified by ELISA. The mean concentration Ā± SEM for CXCL8 (A), GM-CSF (B) and TNF-Ī± (C) normalized to total protein in the sample saliva from diseased (closed bars) and control (open bars) elderly and young groups are shown. Data shown are the mean of triplicate values from a single experiment representative of two performed experiments for each donor. The results were evaluated by one-way ANOVA followed by Tukey's test and the value of P was considered significant when < 0.01. Equal symbols indicate significant difference between the groups.
