Shown are mean values ± SEM for naïve, unswitched, isotype-switched and double-negative memory B cell populations based on phenotypic characterization using CD27 and IgD. Panel B illustrates age-related changes in B cell populations between infants at 40 weeks of age, adolescent (n = 8) and adult SPF-2 macaques (n = 8). The legend of the plots is as described in Figure 2. Significant differences between age groups were determined by exact Mann–Whitney test and are indicated as p values.
