Expression of TAB2, TAK1 and phospo TAK1. Purified TN and TCM CD8 + T cells were incubated in the absence or presence of TNF-α for 10 min, and the expression of TAB2 and TAK1, and phosphorylation of TAK-1 were measured with specific antibodies and flow cytometry. Isotype antibodies were used as background control. Data were analyzed for fluorescence intensity (MFI) as an indicator of density of molecules. Cumulative data from 5 young and 5 aged subjects show a significantly decreased (P < 0.004) pTAK1 in aged subjects as compared to young subjects
