Cytokine production by CD8⁺T cell in the BM and the PB. BMMC from the femur (n = 14) or iliac crest (n = 5) and PBMC (n = 19) from healthy elderly persons were stimulated with PMA and ionomycin in the presence of brefeldin A for 4 h and the production of the cytokines IFN-γ, TNF-α and IL-2 was determined by intracellular FACS analysis.
